Description	The description concerns the following entries: hard tissue mass from Gallus gallus domesticus (broiler chicken), hen's eggs powder produced from pre-embryonic incubated eggs, egg membrane derived from the eggshell membranes of chicken eggs and the egg membrane hydrolysate derived from the eggshell membranes of chicken eggs, and eggshells from chicken ( Gallus gallus domesticus ) eggs that are used for calcium fortification of foods. On hard tissue mass, the request was submitted to the Finnish Authority under Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. The outcome is also published on the following Commission's link https://ec.europa.eu/food/safety/novel_food/consultation-process_en under the entry ‘hard tissue mass from broiler chicken ( Gallus gallus domesticus )’. The eggshells undergo hydro-mechanical separation in order to obtain the egg membranes, which are then further processed using a patented solubilisation method. Following the solubilisation process, the solution is filtered, concentrated, spray-dried and packaged. The eggshells that are used for calcium fortification of foods are first heat-treated, then dried and ground.
