| Description | The mushrooms that were previously named Agaricus blazei Murrill are actually Agaricus subrufescens Peck.The name Agaricus blazei Murill refers to a different, non-cultivated mushroom species and should therefore no longer be used. The entry concerns the fruiting body and the dehydrated mycelium powder Agaricus subrufescens Peck. The latter was submitted with the formerly used name Agaricus blazei to the Spanish competent authority under Article 4 of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. It was concluded that the history of consumption in the EU was not established. Therefore, Agaricus subrufescens Peck dehydrated mycelium powder is considered a novel food.
